How he came to Tianlu
Mr Ang has collected jade for years. Long ago he invited a pair of creatures he thought were the same. For more than a decade, nothing went right and debts mounted. He changed the feng shui of his house, changed his name (he now uses his original name again), and moved home. None of it held.
A teacher finally asked whether he kept the female Bixie — a tomb guardian — in a home people live in. He did. The male, Tianlu, is what such a home should keep. He had the Bixie dealt with in the proper way (it cannot simply be thrown away), invited Tianlu, wore it, and contemplated every day to activate its energy in the universe. Fortune turned. He did not only fulfil his dreams; he outgrew them.
His given name is Chiok Hock: “stone” and “fortune”. A teacher told him that if stone could bring him fortune, he should work with stone — and gave him a nine-character maxim: do it with heart; whatever you do, do it as it should be. In 2007 he opened Tian Lu Zhi Jia in Toa Payoh, Singapore’s specialist in jade Tianlu.
He studied the history of Tianlu, the energy of things, and the interior of the human heart, and insisted on answering every question with knowledge, care, and scientific explanation. Passing the whole method to a stranger in one sitting is hard. Every guest needs time. It has been worth it: those who grasp it have already seen results.
Five years of revision produced a method that is simple, easy to follow, and effective: heart, jade Tianlu, and cosmic energy, joined. He still does the work himself. Word of mouth led to brand and entrepreneur awards.
Even at the bottom of life you can climb again — if you put your heart into it.

Every item is complete.
The poles left the deepest mark. They sailed on the Russian nuclear icebreaker 50 Let Pobedy (“50 Years of Victory”), which can reach the North Pole; Mr Ang took the helm, and they swam in the Arctic and Southern Oceans. They became engaged in Antarctica and married at the North Pole. Since 2010 they have travelled three or four times a year, through more than a hundred countries. It is closer to an expedition than a holiday. What carries it, he says, is positive energy.
The 75321 challenge
A life is vivid when it has a dream
He has watched people leave the world with regrets because the dream was postponed. His counsel: do not shrink the aim you had as a child. You may enlarge it; never make it smaller. Most people start large and end hoping only for a job — and then even that is gone.
He grew up poor: eight people in a 1-room HDB flat with no living room. The childhood dream was a large home with a sky garden. He now lives in that penthouse with a sky garden.
After Secondary 4 he worked with his father. After National Service, knowing his schooling was limited and that he was Chinese-educated, he studied anything that taught how success is built, and ran his own businesses across several trades. He did not quit at the hardest point.
Helping others begins with the heart
Everyone has a dream. The question is how, in a short life, you complete it. Tian Lu Zhi Jia exists to help. Success has a method; the method is personal.
The universe has three elements: time, space and energy. Begin with the heart. Contemplate often, and space accumulates clean energy. As it strengthens, the dream takes form.
Personal energy is finite; cosmic energy is not. Tianlu has more than two thousand years behind it. Contemplation starts that store of energy and strengthens the positive in you. Success belongs to those who stay full of it.
The impossible becomes possible through the heart — will, intention, gratitude, compassion, insight. Opening it is simple: be glad, be active, do good, give thanks first. When the heart is right and the wish is strong, the road opens.
Meet a setback and dwell on the dark, and the heart sours. Meet it with gladness, action, kindness and thanks, and getting up is easier. The face follows the heart; circumstances follow the mind.
Do it with heart; whatever you do, do it as it should be.
